Program Expectations

Expected of Each Student:

  1. Consistent and correct Completion of all Coursework (tasks and projects)
  2. Consistent, correct and timely Submission of all Coursework for evaluation (so as to meet, or precede, Coursework Deadlines)
  3. Responsibility for consistent Monitoring of Personal Pace, Grades and Progress
  4. Full Awareness of Current Week’s Coursework Deadline and Program Completion Point (PCP)

Progress Guidelines

To achieve measurable success, and to meet all the course requirements, students are expected to make continuous progress throughout the entire program. Just like employees/contractors in a “real world” workplace, students have individual responsibilities that must be maintained.

  • This program is not self-paced! All Coursework is structured to follow a tight, specifically-planned, deadline-driven schedule.
  • Digital Design is a 48-week program (Digital Design 1; Week 1 – 24 and Digital Design 2; Week 25 – 48). However, due to scheduled holidays and school breaks, more than one calendar year is required to complete the full program.
  • Coursework is allotted a certain number of days (or hours) for completion and should be submitted for grading by its unique due date.
  • All work is to be submitted as soon as it is completed.
  • A Program Completion Point (PCP) is used to track personal progress (course completions) within the program.
  • This program progresses sequentially, in a linear fashion. One course must be completed before another course can begin; access to next course submissions (in Blackboard LMS) is granted only after the previous course has been completed in full.
  • You have the option to progress ahead of schedule, but you cannot lag behind schedule!

Coursework Deadlines

View/Download the Coursework Deadlines sheet for your (full-time or part-time) schedule in Blackboard (found in Getting Started > Coursework Deadlines). It is a critically important tool; you will refer to it often (perhaps daily).

  • Use it for scheduling, planning, and monitoring your personal progress.
  • Printing a hard copy is recommended for marking progress: checking-off, highlighting, etc.
  • As this curriculum periodically evolves and course requirements get updated, you should…
    • ensure that you are viewing/using the latest version of the deadline sheet.
    • always refresh your browser(s) to view the latest version of this PDF file.
